Burgos & El Cid

This is our lovely and hilarious tour guide for the cathedral of Burgos. I feel like she epitomizes the European fashion and fascination for wearing fur. It is difficult to tell, but her boots are also made of fur.

Back to the Cathedral.

So Burgos is the burial site of El Cid, the champion of the Reconquest and famous epic hero in Spain. Here lies the champion.
And here is a lovely altarpiece depicting him slaying the enemies of the crown and Catholic church.

I thought this altarpiece was really cool. It is the family tree of David proving that Christ came through his lineage.

This sweet ceiling was designed so that throughout the entire day the chapel would have enough daylight. Clever and Beautiful.

Goblets off into eternity.
